Earlier this week the Fellows team completed a site for The Historic Ambassador House!

The Ambassador House and Gardens, Inc is an organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the Ambassador House and Gardens in the Fishers area.  The goal of the Ambassador House project was to create an educational center and museum that serves as a way for visitors to learn about the history of Fishers.  The objective of this project was to create a clean and attractive site that showcases the Ambassador House and informs readers about the restoration work on the house.  The organization was prevously without a Web presence so the site will be an important part of their marketing efforts.

Project complete!

Early this week we finished a site for a career counseling business, Successful Transitions: www.stransitions.com.  The business specializes in providing career counseling services to high school and college students through personal meetings to assess their strengths and interests.  Successful Transitions was previously without a Web presence so the goal of this project was to create a simple and informative site which serves as a contact point for prospective clients.  This is one of the several Fellows projects nearing completion so there will be more new sites to come!

Next Fellows president hired!

by joshua.cunningham 22. March 2009 10:01

The month of March has been busy for the Fellows team. Not only are there quite a few open projects, there are multiple new prospect opportunities as well. The most significant development has been the hiring of the next president successor, A.J. Gorsage, a sophomore at Guerin Catholic High School. A.J. brings a strong work ethic, determination, and excellent people skills into his new role. We feel these qualities will allow him to be an effective leader of the Fellows over the next few years. I am personally excited to mentor A.J. over the next few months before I head off to college. The goal is to gradually give A.J. increasing responsibility up until the time he assumes the complete responsibilities of the role in August. The experience A.J. will gain from his job at Fellows will help prepare him for his future career, which he currently hopes will be in the business field.

Now the focus turns to recruiting several students to handle Web development for the upcoming school year.  The hope is to have those students hired within the next few weeks.

Searching for the next Fellows president

by joshua.cunningham 10. February 2009 12:47
With my upcoming graduation in a few months, the search for the next Fellows president is underway.  It will certainly be difficult to step out of this job since I have greatly enjoyed the experience, but at the same time exciting to hand the job off to the next Fellows leader.  The main responsibility of the role includes sales work with potential clients to determine their project objectives and propose a solution that meets those needs.  Additional aspects of the position involve networking with local teachers to establish a base of prospective students to recruit for jobs in addition to the oversight of the Fellows marketing efforts.  The general qualities we are searching for in the next president include an interest in the business world and a desire to grow in business knowledge before college in addition to the abilitiy to communicate with others effectively.  These are just a few of the responsibilities and qualities associated with the job.  Please visit www.bitwisefellows.com/jobs.aspx to view a page containing the job description!

The value of Fellows and my college career.

by joshua.cunningham 24. January 2009 16:29
Today I visited the Purdue University campus and was reminded of the value of my 2 years of experience at BitWise Fellows.  Next year, I am looking to attend Purdue, major in economics, and gain a better overall understanding of the business world.  I'm not sure what the future holds....possibly an MBA or even starting my own business.  One thing I do know is the real-world experience I have gained in my leadership at Fellows has given me a head start on many other first-year college students.  Any internships I might take on during college will seem less intimidating because of the time I have already spent working in the business world.  I am very excited to carry my experience at Fellows over into my study of economics in college.

My Experience at BitWise Fellows

by joshua.cunningham 2. December 2008 17:46

BitWise Fellows has been an invaluable experience for me over the past two years.  As president, my two main roles involve the handling of company sales operations in addition to the coordination of our staffing efforts.  Before I began my role, I really had no idea about what career opportunities I wanted to pursue.  My work at Fellows has allowed me to gain a much deeper understanding of the business world beyond just a business or economics course.  As a result of this experience, I am looking to go into business school in college next year.  I have developed a much greater comfort level interacting with adults in a professional business environment in addition to more effective leadership skills of my fellow high school students.  Working with my team members to solve problems and implement successful Web solutions for our clients is extremely rewarding.  Each project poses different challenges and requires us to think of new ways to meet the client’s needs.

In short, my work at Fellows has provided me with a head start as I look to begin my college career and future job experience.  I would certainly encourage any students interested in entrepreneurial business experience to learn more about job opportunities at BitWise Fellows.
